Business of the Month!
Portview Restaurant
1 Lock St Portview Going Green Since March '09 Marie Mavridis has been the main crusader behind Portview going green. The Restaurant has turned to an organic program that recycles everything from; food scraps, bar fruit, coffee grinds to scrap paper. Portview has also started using biodegradable take out containers, put glass tops on the dinning room tables to cut down on laundry and apple cider vinegar to rid their garden of weeds. With the new program that has been implemented the restaurant has managed to go from two garbage pick-ups a week to once a month. They are only a few small steps away from receiving the "Environmental Seal" as an environmentally cautious restaurant!
Maire Mavridis: "as a business owner it is a win-win situation; less waste = better business. In the end we save money and the environment"!
Congratulations to Portview Restaurant, its owners and staff that have all made the program possible!
